Grill Gauge GG 1100 Original Review

This pressure gauge is very convenient to use. Just slowly lift the tank (disconnected from the regulator) and reinstall. The gauge has a second pointer that records weight (in fractions of full capacity) so you can look directly at the gauge without having to bend down to see it while holding the tank. Very back-friendly! The sensor arrived on time, in great shape and works like a charm. I'm glad I got it; This makes a propane shortage unlikely, no fun in the middle of your big barbecue.

The grill gauge works as described to measure low pressure grill tanks. They're basically just small analog scales, similar to those used by fishermen or to weigh luggage. I've found that all you have to do is gently lift the tank by the hook a few inches to weigh it. If you pull the bin while lifting it, you will get an incorrect reading. I bought a sensor from Home Depot that had a full/empty indicator. It connected to the gas nozzle on the propane tank, and then I connected the grill gas hose to this gauge. That's awesome. It's simple and reliable, but it takes a little muscle to check the tank. You hook it to the top of the tank, loosen the screws that hold the tank in place, and lift it up. Just got this sensor and am happy with it. As a result, I am not happy with the Blue Rhino. I first tried the sensor on an empty tank and it didn't move from "E". I took it with me when I got the Blue Rhino replacement tank. The first tank they brought was about 5/8 full. I asked her to buy me another one. It showed about 3/4 full.
