All deck plates and filters in the raw water system have different widths between the holes in the plates so a normal wrench will not work. In addition, the length of the wrench gives more torque than the wrench. Our Hans Christian sailboat had one on board when we got it but it was easier for us to leave one on deck for the deck plates and the other below for the filters. And if one gets lost, we have a backup! A superb burnt bronze instrument.
