Description of Grumbacher Finest Watercolor Paint Ultramarine

The lightest of the Ultramarines has a mid-range Blue masstone that makes rich Blue washes that have no trace of Red in its undertone. It is slightly darker in Hue than Cobalt Blue. Originally from the lapis lazuli stone, this vibrant blue is an essential of any artist's palette. Formulated with premium-grade pigments uniformly combined in a balanced medium. Ensures fluid, even washes; Perfect for plein air painting. Excellent tinting strength; Made in USA.

Watercolor Grumbacher does a great job!

As an avid watercolourist, Grumbacher Finest is the best of them all. This is my first watercolor choice and I paint a lot.

Pros
  • Ensures a smooth and even wash; Ideal for painting outdoors
Cons
  • I'll write later

easy to combine with other brands

Can you find my review of Grumbacher Viridian? I shared my opinion on creating a palette with paints from different manufacturers. (no way to reactivate it after drying) Grumbacher, Windsor and Newton have good pigment loading. Act!

Pros
  • Contains high quality pigments evenly blended in a balanced medium
Cons
  • Fines
