Cleaner 3x9 to 1x11 upgrade

Shorter chainring bolts helped make my Tomac Cortez 3x9 to 1x11 upgrade project a little cleaner. No pads. Detail list in the description of my YouTube video.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons

sprocket bolts and more.

Fast delivery and quality product. I used them as fasteners for a roof rack trim/wind deflector that I made for my Audi. There's no reason to think they won't work as intended!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Protection

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor quality let me down within minutes.

Complete scrap failed on first ride and destroyed my front sprocket, poorly made scrap, save on it and spend a few bucks more on better bolts. I can't even find the broken bolts as they are all over the street so I can't get them back.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
  • Replacement Availability

Not very strong good for parts and components

Installed them when I switched from 3X to 1X. I settled on a 36 tooth sprocket but decided to replace it with a 32 tooth sprocket. When I tried to unscrew them, two came off completely. Luckily I was able to remove them with a couple of screwdrivers and a drill. Their metal is not very strong. I ended up reusing these nuts with the original bolts I had on my original sprockets.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Not what I was hoping for!

If you throw a set of lightweight bolts on your cranks and never want to take them off, then this is your thing. However, you can get the same cheap item elsewhere for a lot less! The included screws have a hex at the front and a slot at the back, but the slot is so shallow and the material so soft that they won't come loose if you don't hand-tighten them when installing! I had to drill out the shift gears. Replaced front and rear with FSA hex head bolts!

Pros
  • Convenient item
Cons
  • Clarity

Light and tricky

I ordered the version with a ring and they fit perfectly when I installed them on my crank! I used a drop of lube inside before tightening them. But I did cover the bottom edge of the shoulder that actually touches the crank when I installed them on the cranks to avoid crank pin squeaking. I regularly check that they are still tight, but they have been tight for over a month now. Bonus: There is a tiny inscription on the front of the screw about the aluminum used, so you can tell at firstโ€ฆ

Cheap and easy.

I ordered single speed bolts to convert a Sora crankset from triple to double speed. My chainring needs to be on the thicker side, the bolts need to be a bit longer. They worked, but the look made me nervous, so I used the old steel bolts and nuts from the kit. It's all on me, but when you do a triple conversion, the nuts are the right size but the bolts aren't. So just order a set of these, use the individual eye bolts for the small ring and the nuts and bolts you have for the outer ring whenโ€ฆ
