Heats up quickly (has an adjustable regulator) and the handles stay cool during use. The sides will get hot, so be careful what surface it's resting on when you heat it. I don't usually write negative reviews but I tried to contact the company through the support contact link and left one few messages to solve the problem. I started this process a few weeks ago and still haven't received a response from them. I didn't ask for a refund, I asked for a replacement. I bought this iron based on the rave reviews. Lightweight, looks good and works well. It doesn't sit on top or bottom though, it keeps falling on its side meaning the hot areas are too close to the countertop for my comfort. The on/off switch and the temperature control are also located inside the handle. I see some burned fingers in my future.
