Great game. The pieces are pretty smooth so they can slide off each other very easily which makes it a bit difficult for my 5 year old daughter to stack more than a few animals at a time. But it definitely improves their hand-eye coordination and agility. Not to mention that she just loves to play with animals. I don't know if it's worth the $20 I paid (you can buy the "mini" version for $10), but I definitely wouldn't pay $30 for a "collector's edition" that does replaced the standardโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Players compete to be the first to place all their wooden animals on the animal pile before the other players.
Cons
  • Not the best

One of the best kids games you can get.

Tier auf Tier is a German board game by HABA. I heard about it several times on the Dice Tower podcast and was intrigued. The game is extremely simple. This is a skill game where all the components are wooden figures of different animals like sheep, monkeys, penguins and porcupines. They stack these animals on top of a large wooden alligator. Try to see how high you can stack them before it all collapses. Whoever has a turn rolls a die. The results tell you to stack an animal or two yourselfโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Wobbly stacking game for 2-4 players, ages 4-99. As a real HABA classic made in Germany, this game will appeal to the whole family and will also be popular on adult game nights!
Cons
  • I don't like it that much, everything is fine

A fun, high quality and aesthetically pleasing balancing game

This Christmas we bought three Haba games for our four year old; these, Socks Zochen and Zitternix. This is my favorite and my 2 year old is dangerously crazy about characters, but my 4 year old says that while she loves this game, it's not as cool as Socks Zochen. The game consists of 7 different small wooden animals. There are four groups of animals, 28 in total, as well as a cube and a wooden alligator that forms the base of the stack. They are all quite small, which I found out beforeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • One of HABA's most popular games, this game was a Major Fun winner! Mr. Dad's Award and Seal of Approval. By the 10th anniversary, over 600,000 copies had been sold!
