great little iron - iron

The next best thing to a travel soldering station. I have Hakko 936 and 888D stations at home, but taking them to work is too much, so the FX600 fills the gap. I can use T18 tips from my stations and choose the right tip design to get the best results. The device heats up quickly in about 30 seconds after switching on until the light starts flashing indicating that the desired temperature has been reached (I usually leave it at 320). I've only had this device for a few months, but it works…

Pros
  • welding and soldering
Cons
  • fragile

This is the best soldering iron I have ever owned

This is the best soldering iron I have ever owned. It heats up quickly from the moment you turn it on until it reaches the desired temperature. takes seconds instead of minutes and heats up from 400F to 930F, ideal for electrical work. I bought replacement tips to increase the iron's efficiency for specific tasks and my only regret is that Hakko doesn't include the D16 instead of the D08 that comes with the iron. The soldering iron deserves 5 stars and works incredibly well. I am very happy…

Pros
  • Soldering and Soldering Supplies
Cons
  • Not sure

Hakko will not support your warranty. Get a fake instead.

It worked great the first time but didn't get hot the second time - next day. I removed the tip and found the heating element was cracked. I buy quality tools and take good care of them, I have never dropped or mishandled this iron. I can only guess that it was roughly handled during transport, it had a micro tear which eliminated it the first time I used it when it got hot. I could forgive all of this, but Hakko refuses to honor his own guarantee. When I first contacted them they told me this…

Pros
  • Soldering iron and soldering iron
Cons
  • Only available in white
