Who knew Hamilton Beach could do such a good thing?

This thing makes the best coffee I've ever had at home! I decided between this, Breville or Technivorm and I think I made the right choice (and saved money!). I also had Bonavita for a while, but it stopped working after a few years. has been recommended as the best brewer on all sorts of websites, but honestly this thing is better and I don't think it comes close. It's not as difficult to set up as other reviews make it out to be, and the built-in scale is a revelation. As a bonus, this item…

Lots of bells and whistles that aren't really needed

I'm a big coffee drinker and have been drinking coffee every morning for 20 years and I've found that simplicity works best, I love new innovations here and there, but sometimes a few extra things just make things harder. That means your coffee grounds get stale and sit around all day and night until you want your coffee. Countertop covered with coffee, because you need to adjust the drip spout precisely, a little to the left or right, and the coffee will be half in and half down the side…

Pros
  • High score for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Very unintuitive coffee maker product

Can't believe it's $200. It's very unintuitive at best, and non-existent at worst, as almost every function and feature revolves around pressing and holding a single "Select" button. I couldn't even figure out how to set the time outside of the correct hour as "press and hold select" when resetting the time takes me to a different menu. If they only spent a few bucks on the interface it could... It was a great product but as long as it sits it's a nuisance. If you try to measure and pour your…

Outstanding high end coffee maker

Hamilton Beach isn't usually the brand I think of when I think 'high end' but here they have made a quality coffee maker that compares to some is the hard hitter in the upscale drip coffee landscape. Sure, it's not one of those wild $700 gadgets that works automatically, but it's a quality machine. It has a small form factor and is extremely aesthetically pleasing. Take the guesswork out of coffee, too, with a great scale that gives you the right measurements for each cup of coffee. There are…

Hybrid pour/drop.

This is an interesting coffee maker because it tries to replicate the pour-over method in a filter coffee maker. In a way, this is similar to how the drip world tries to get back to Melitta days before the drip guy. As with a regular drip coffee maker, this is interesting because you: 1) choose the brew strength you want; 2) select the desired number of cups; 3) Choose whether to use the "Bloom" option, which increases the time and strength of the pour; 4) Pour the specified amount of water…

Pros
  • DON'T GUESS: The built-in scale counts down as you add coffee grounds for manual or automatic brewing. It takes the guesswork out of pouring your coffee by ensuring you add the exact amount of coffee grounds for the exact coffee to water ratio every time.
Cons
  • Makes me angry

I've had great luck with Hamilton Beach coffee makers, so the price of this high-end model, the Hamilton Beach 46700 Craft Programmable, didn't put me off. And wow, the coffee from this machine is +++ good, maybe the best I've ever had. And this is an automatic brew option, I haven't tried manual brewing. Fat is actually fat. I have third place out of five and I have a solid light cup. It's high tech and high fashion. The control panel scrolls through the various functions and automatically…

Pros
  • QUALITY COFFEE FOR THE BARISTA - With this automatic pour-out coffee maker, you can control the brewing method, bloom cycle, brewing temperature and brewing strength to brew rich and delicious coffee on tap just the way you want it.
Cons
  • No Insurance

Great coffee, overly complex

My husband is a coffee drinker and programmer. So when he says this car is too complicated, I take his word for it. There are so many things I love about this car and so many things I don't like. Let's start with what we don't like: 1. There is no hinged lid on the carafe2. The coffee grounds are ALWAYS open. By this I mean that the dripper rotates over the filter but does not completely occlude the filter. This means that if you brew coffee overnight, the coffee grounds will be exposed and…

Pros
  • DESIGNED TO LAST: The coffee brewer prevents spills when the carafe is pulled away. The durable borosilicate glass jug has an internal blending tube that blends coffee for consistent flavor from first sip to last drop.
Cons
  • It's okay
