UC7083T Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Remote Control with Reverse - Enhanced for SEO Review

Ordered two, both work great. The access code on one of them already matched one of the two ceiling fans, the other had to be installed. I didn't know the code for the receiver built into the fan, but with four on/off switches there are only 16 possible combinations, so I just went through the possible combinations until I found one that worked.

Ideal for Hampton Bay fan. Buy a fixer for the roof of the house and a wall switch will control the fan, meaning it's on or off. Wanted to see if I could find a remote to control the fan speed, light and reverse. Worked great and I no longer have to spend money on a new fan. By the way, I had to get a ladder to see the brand and if the fan remote control was installed.

I thought I had to buy another ceiling fan. I googled how to fix this and the only thing that kept coming up was something about the remote control. The fan was running via the wall switch but the light would not come on. Changed bulbs and everything. The remote control lights up when the button is pressed, but the light still does not light up. So I order this remote control of the same model as mine. I put a battery in it. Pressed the light button and it lit up.

I lost my remote control and this works great, it took me a while to go through the switches in different combinations to finally find the right one, because my ceiling fan is on a vaulted ceiling and I didn't want to climb up there and look at the base unit to see what the combination was. Also, it doesn't come with a battery, which I didn't notice in the description, so I bought mine from a local store. This remote control comes without instructions or battery. I think it should be both. I was only able to figure out how to program it by reading other people's reviews. I can't go backwards, but that doesn't bother me. I just needed a new remote as the original remote that came with the fan fell apart. As I said, this should come with detailed instructions and the battery should be included in the price. I'm giving four stars because I figured out how to work with it.

Half of my fan's functions stopped working with its remote control. I was able to turn the fan on with the wall switch, but the light came on and didn't turn off. Really didn't want the light on during the day to use the fan. Only 2 out of 3 fan speeds worked. It's a beautiful fan and a similar replacement costs a lot more than I thought it would, so I took a chance and swapped out the remote. The only thing this remote did was (sometimes) turn the lights on and off and dim (but it was so quick I couldn't leave it at the desired level could she get in). Getting the remote to communicate with our fan wasn't a problem, but getting the remote to do what it was supposed to do was a big challenge. The fan and reverse buttons didn't work at all.
