Fantastic tool

I have a seawater tank. This is my seventh tank. I've gone from swing arm hydrometers (horrible) to refractometers (much better) to this one. It's expensive, but you no longer have to look at the phone to get a reading. I actually bought it as a fallback for my refractometer, but now I use it primarily. Extremely accurate and easy to use. I also think it outperforms the expensive salinity sensor that is in the tank and needs to be calibrated and eventually replaced every 2 weeks. The size is…

Pros
  • Waterproof for indoor and outdoor use
Cons
  • Slightly torn

It's not very easy and correct

I have read many reviews about this refractometer. I don't understand why people are dissatisfied there. They just never bothered about the usual optics, especially when it lies in all dimensions. Hanna is the best thing that has ever happened to us. We figured it out very quickly, put in the battery, immediately calibrated with pure osmosis and immediately measured the water from the aquarium. Everything is clear and simple. We are very happy! Happy husband in the photo! )))) Thank you to the…

Pros

  • No performance

Didn't impress me at all

I have a live rock fish tank and I replaced those crappy salinity floats with a $40 refractometer. We bought it a few months later, everything measured fine, but then calibration problems started and the test results were a little different. The measurements should be for the money I had in mind but I couldn't get them anymore. I got angry and frustrated so I bought a HANNA salinity tester. Big waste of time and money. I received the device and the next morning I ran a number of different tests

Pros
  • Can be calibrated with distilled or deionized water, no buffers needed
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
