If you really want to try, check the bridle carefully every day. Run your fingers over the entire surface to check for roughness. I had a small cut on the underside that cut my horse's tongue. So far she's really liked it, but I won't be using this type of racket again. I don't know how the cut on the blade got there, but it's NOT a dental issue.

Seems well made and safe for soft mouths. I bought the 5.5" and found it too big for most of my horses, so I also use the 5" for 15 to 15.3H horses so they fit better without having to rotate the rack. . The horse it fits doesn't nibble on it constantly like other bits I've tried and is very responsive to it with a light touch. Cute!

After much research I was a little surprised to find out how painful a split snaffle bit can be and I decided to buy two of them. One for my husband's horse who hates the bit and one for my horse who has a good bit but I didn't like the idea of putting a split snaffle in his mouth anymore as he's a good boy and it's not does' You don't need too much control (or pain). !)
