You can make the best coffee, just be up for the challenge!

Here I just want to emphasize a few points.1) V60 can make the best filter coffee (look for the 4:6 method, the James Hoffman method, the Scott-Rao method. You are all good 4) You need to grind your coffee coarser than you think. 5) Filters appear expensive. The most important thing to keep in mind is that there are essential items that will end up costing you considerably more than this set. You need a scale, get the $10 APEXSTONE scale. You need to buy a gooseneck kettle, I suggest a stove…

Awesome V60 Pour Over Set

Before you buy a pour over you must first understand that there is an art to using it. If you are not patient and precise, this brewing method is not for you. However, if you're into pourover, this is a great set, whether you're a beginner or more advanced. It's very affordable, yet just as functional as any other V60 pourover. The first thing that might be off-putting about this product is that the actual pour-over device is made out of plastic. But the case is made of durable, high-quality…

Good choice if you don't drink a full cup

I just need something that lets you make 2-3 cups at a time and this pour-over system is perfect. All you need is boiling water and a filter. I've been using a French Press for years, but decided to switch to a drench when I was looking for ways to lower my cholesterol.

The paint is thinner than shown.

I bought this mainly to try the V60 filters (as opposed to the flat bottom Melita filters) for infusing coffee. I only wanted a cone filter but bought the whole pot because the price doesn't differ much. I've only used one cone so far and I really like it. I am sure that if this pandemic ever ends and we have guests again, I will love the pot when I use it to serve guests. . . V60 filters are comparable in price to Melitas filters, but I think they deflate a bit faster (if you pre-wet the…

Favorite potting system on the market

I had a ceramic V60 that fell 8 feet and smashed about a month ago. I also have a Chemex and a stainless steel coffee dispensing system (no filter). I've paid more than double for my other filling systems, but this is the one I go to every morning. To understand why I love the Hario system so much, I compare it to my Chemex. The biggest issue with my Chemex is drainage - even with a fairly coarse grind, it's difficult to get water through the bottom. I should also mention that I use a…

For the love of coffee

If you haven't read anything else in my review, read this: This inexpensive little appliance will make your coffee better, even at the cost of a gooseneck kettle, than a drip coffee maker three to five times more expensive. Disclaimer: I love coffee and will go to great lengths to make a good cup. But the art of creating it is simple, although it requires some upfront investment. A good coffee grinder, a swan neck kettle (variable temperature is best, but a regular one is fine) to heat the…
