Description of 🐶 Harlow Blend All Life Stages Dog Recipe - Turkey Fusion and Fish Fusion Options, Gluten, Grain, and GMO Free - Various Sizes

FRESH TURKEY - A hearty low fat protein. The perfect option for dogs who suffer from allergies related to traditional meats such as lamb or beef. GRAIN FREE – Fresh Turkey and dehydrated Turkey are the 1st, 2nd ingredients. Meat is the main protein source at 38%. DOES HAVE YUCCA - For Healthy stools - Stimulates the breakdown of ammonia to reduce stool & urine odor. DOES NOT HAVE CORN - WHEAT - GLUTEN – SOY - These plant-based ingredients are inherently more difficult for your dog’s body to digest and derive nutrition from. These ingredients are common food allergens for dogs and can cause recurrent ear infections, skin problems, and digestive upset. DOES NOT HAVE PEAS - LENTILS - CHICK PEAS - It is thought that these ingredients could prevent your pets body from processing a vital amino acid called taurine. Taurine is essential for the healthy functioning of his cardiac system, and without it, his body cannot function as it should. Many owners choose pea-free food for this reason, to be on the safe side. Harlow Blend formulas start with REAL MEAT, NATURAL INGREDIENTS, AND ENHANCED VITAMINS & MINERALS. ORIGINATING FROM CANADA, THE UNITED STATES, AND NEW ZEALAND.

Quality ingredients, dog loved it

The first thing I will say is the dog ate it so that's a plus as there are some foods that he just won't eat. What can I say, I have the fish fusion and it has a slight smell as you would expect from something containing real fish. So that's a disadvantage. Otherwise, the ingredients are of high quality and contain good substances that I would like to give to my dog. It didn't upset my dog's stomach or otherwise negatively affect him when I envisioned it. All in all, I would recommend this dog…

They just love it! - Cats

I have two small dogs that can be picky about dry food so I was glad to see that they love the Harlow Blend All Life Stages dog food recipe. Its main ingredient is white fish and contains no grains, artificial flavors or colors. This is important to me as I love feeding my dogs the same quality food as I do. It's also gluten-free and hypoallergenic if that's an issue for some dogs. Most importantly, after a week of direct feeding, their feces continue to look normal, so I know they have…

I love it more than dogs

After seeing the ingredients and how the food was prepared I had high hopes and was very impressed. It comes vacuum packed to keep it fresh and is said to be cooked slowly and at a low temperature, which preserves the nutrients. But once I offered it to my girls, they certainly ate it fine (dogs) but didn't look as excited as they usually do with new foods. Doesn't it smell very "fresh" too? I was expecting it to be very spicy, but it smells quite mild. The croquettes are also slightly thicker…

Good ingredients in the dry food

My two dogs love this food and eat it with pleasure. I think the ingredients are very good and I really like it when meat is listed as the first ingredient. The fat content can be a bit high, at least 16%, so I have to carefully measure how much I feed my overweight dog. As for "grain-free" and being better for your dog, I think the jury is still out. I've found that if I feed my dogs a grain-free diet for a few days, they get poo and very smelly gas, so I mix it with non-grain kibble. All of…

High-quality dog food: Food

I'm not a dog food expert so I rely on the dog food consultants website to review dog food brands and recipes. Unfortunately I was not able to find any information about this brand at the time of writing this review, but it seems to me that this is good quality dog food, rich in quality ingredients and free of controversial fillers. Both my 13 lb Miniature Schnauzer and 20 lb Cockapoo (+/-) enjoy the food and haven't noticed any ill effects (digestion issues). Both can easily handle a piece of…

No peas but no legumes

I think it's a 5 star product except I don't like how it's advertised as pea free. IMHO, that's kind of a straw statement. Yes, it is pea-free but not legume-free as it contains lentils. If you read the FDA study on the potential link between certain diets and canine dilated cardiomyopathy, you'll see that legumes in general, and not just peas, can pose a problem. Since I have Border Collies (who don't seem to be at much CDC risk) I'm not worried about feeding this to my dogs. If I had Golden…

Cons
  • Pretty ok

I noticed a significant improvement in my labrador retriever's coat when I ate this. Her fur was fuller and only yellower. She had practically no allergies. And she was just as playful as ever! Because of her weight and activity level, I only gave her one cup of food per meal, which is less than the recommended amount for most other foods. It has a higher protein content. Protein - whitefish. It was the first time she had eaten white fish. She had no ear infections, hot spots, or itchy skin…
