Works the same as gas backflow. Dissolve it in methanol and apply paint. In a few minutes the methanol will evaporate and you can start welding. Slag is hard to remove unless you have access to a rear hatch or use a terrible HF and nitric acid passivator to remove it. But it works great, prevents shugaring, easy to use.

This flux is a great alternative to gas backflow even when gas backflow is a possibility. I had several 5 foot welds on 16 gauge stainless steel and used this flux instead of gas reflow. I really liked the results. Sometimes some flux leaks out into the weld pool, but that doesn't cause any real problems. Received quickly, at a great price, this is what you use to weld Stainless Steel 30x 304 316 321 TIG exhaust or any use case where you don't want to run a backflush to protect against carbide buildup from the backside. I mix it with heat, which you can buy at any auto shop, so the fuel doesn't freeze. It is methanol and it is recommended to mix with sun flux. Make a paste out of it, runny, like the consistency of olive oil, not very runny but not thick like toothpaste. It will become hard after
