Very strong. Takes practice

I used this solder to repair a stainless steel steamer. The four spot welds that attached the handle broke. This solder is very strong. This is my first time using this type of solder. While I have some experience soldering electrical and plumbing projects, this is considerably more difficult. I suggest beginners practice repairs where final appearance is not critical. There are good instructional videos on YouTube.

High Quality Silver Solder

Harris is a well known brand: reliable quality - no surprises - does exactly what it says on the tin. With a little practice, almost anyone can learn how to solder silver. The secret is to prepare the metal, use the right flux, and quickly ramp the temperature to red heat. Propane is hot enough - the process is to transfer the required amount of heat to the metal being brazed and not to use oxy-acetylene flux which is likely to burn off the flux before brazing temperature is reached. Use white…

Really good product. From a very grateful tradesman

This is a good product at a good price, I've done my homework. Brazing (soldering) that does not require $$fuel/tanks. Once researched, it can be used on most metals. Harris puts out a line of industrial products, but the product information on their website seems to recognize newbies (me). The silver solder project, especially the higher percentage line, gives a pure craft look. When done correctly, it can be as strong as bronze soldering. And aesthetically pleasing. I don't know if that was…

I love this product!

I needed to replace a handle with a hose nipple with a knurled handle nipple. There is only one replacement for this (old) handle and the customer reviews are bad. I decided to make my own out of a stick and nut. I silver soldered the nut to the stem after drilling a hole in the nut. Then I put a new "knob" on the hub stem and drilled a hole through the nut, stem and the other side of the stem. Mother. A nail threaded through the nut/bar and then bent secures the handle to the bar. I used less…

real things. suitable for solder and flux

This problem is solved by using solder to join many metals. It flows like water, almost eutectic. And easily wettable thanks to 56% Ag. Yes, it's expensive, but it's not for making fillets, it's for flowing into tiny joints and soldering. I have been using this type and brand for over 25 years. Just can't justify playing with foreign brands. I don't see much, this troy ounce lasts at least 10 years unless Lady Luck gives me more magic bullets for more money. It's easy to use. The joints need a…
