Didn't arrive extended!

On arrival the package was so compressed that it could not be stretched. I had to go back. Also, they are too narrow despite being told they fit the car.

Works as expected, setup was a pain

Replaced with a 2001 Dodge Durango that still had the original brackets. Installation was a problem as they didn't line up quite right. To put them on I had to unscrew the top part about 90% and reattach the bottom ones. When I attached the bottom screws, they stripped the threads but stayed in place. I believe they will outlive the Durango so I'm not worried about stripping threads. After installation, they work perfectly, the tailgate opens.

Lots of buoyancy but not a perfect fit.

When installing the right lifting platform, I fully tightened the upper screw. Then the bottom didn't fit properly and I was only able to get the bottom screw part way in before the head came off. On the left side, I didn't fully tighten the top screw, and then the bottom screw popped out with no problem. However, when I went back to tighten the top, the bolt face was partially covered by the top strut attachment, preventing me from installing the T40 bushing. I used a pair of narrow pliers to…

Fits well and works very well

After reading some of the reviews I wasn't sure about the quality but the reviews were no better for similarly priced products. Ordered, they showed up a day early, took about 40 minutes to install (this includes picking up the tools, removing and reinstalling to find out about the shims). Some reviews mention wider bass from OEMs, the base isn't wider, if you look closely you can see it's a washer held in place by a plastic bracket, pull and wiggle the washer and bracket. Will do. I use a deep

Excellent value for money, could use some small improvements to be great.

First I looked at the reviews before making this purchase so I had an idea of what I was getting into. Second, the vast majority of them work at both ends of the spectrum. Pros: Once installed, these things work fantastic! I ended up only replacing one of them because they are so strong. It holds the hatch great and even opens the hatch fully without hesitation once you start lifting it. So now I have a spare in case this one breaks down or something. The Bad: The hardware that came with it…
