Satisfied so far - brake pads

I had 3 weeks on my 09 Si. There is less dust and more bite than my previous (unknown brand) pads. They are also very quiet. Follow my car's IG: @09FA5

Pros
  • dope 🔥
Cons

Very good brake pads.

I fitted these pads with a new set of Raybestos Advanced Technology front brake discs and the combination is superior to the stock discs and pads. 2000 km driven on these surfaces, so far so good. Very quiet pads.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Came in an unmarked white box

I have bought this item 3 times already. The third time I was surprised to see it in a plain white box. It usually comes in a blue Hawk box in the pictures. There was a Hawk sticker inside, but that was the only indication my product was a Hawk. I assume the product is genuine but I can't tell.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Clarity

I have been experimenting with HAWK pads as part of a larger braking system on my CR-Z. They were very, very good. I ended up switching to a HAWK HP+, with slightly less handling on the road but better stopping power. They would be fantastic for everyday riding and I would continue to use them if I wasn't looking for every possible ounce of stopping power.

Pros
  • cool product

Fair Pads: Brake

I had Hawk HPS+ pads on my old Honda Prelude. They were dusty and squeaky, but once they got to the right temperature, they had absurd stopping power. These HPS pads now on the Honda S2000 don't look like their big brother. I've done 2 autocrosses with these pads and some hard braked mountain road rides. HPS resists braking quite well. However, compared to OEM Honda S2000 pads, they have slightly less overall stopping power, less initial grip, and significantly more dust. This is likely due to…

A little noisy in town, great in the mountains

I have a 2009 Civic Si sedan and burned out my rear pads after about 22 miles due to Honda's brake force distribution nonsense. Replaced the fronts (which had some life left) with these and the rears with the same line (HB145F.570). They can be noisy around town (e.g. creaking/groaning noise when releasing the brakes up a hill), but when they get the job done, they're much better than the stock pads. Driven up and down Palomar Mountain in San Diego which is a challenge at speed for both cars…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Upgrade available
