They sat in my Lexus gx460 and towed a jet ski.

They were in my Lexus gx460 towing a jet ski up and down a few hills before hitting the beach and the pads were getting hot and the brakes were about 10% effective.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Compatibility

2007 Tacoma DC 3000+ lb tow

Purchased to replace the factory upholstery during routine maintenance. Great upgrade! Significantly improved braking behavior. I typically tow two full-size Polaris quads (900+ pounds each) and a two-seat trailer. Really helps reduce stopping distances and makes me feel more confident when lugging all that weight.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Functionality

Overpriced Parts

Given the price and supposed reputation, I expected these brakes to brake better than the stock brakes. You are not. They squeak and squeak and have terrible braking in the cold. After warming up, it brakes perfectly. If you're buying for Tundra, stick to OEM. Bought and installed in 2014. They wear well but don't improve the break.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Frustrating and annoying squeaking every time

I bought these pads to replace the original pads on my 2013 Tacoma. I installed the pads correctly according to the instructions on the box. However, the squeaking is annoying and embarrassing. I made sure nothing was stuck in the pads and rotors. The pads bite very well compared to the OEM pads, but the squeaky noise with every brake is more than enough to warrant replacing them after only 100km. Such a big disappointment from a brand like Hawks

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
