Hawkwell Little Boys' Outdoor Ankle Hiking Shoes Review

I've ordered 3 pairs of these shoes over the past few years...because she's outgrown them or because she's incredibly picky about her shoes. Anyway, I'll keep wearing these shoes because they fit great and are incredibly durable...I love them and will probably keep buying them when they're gone...and guess what! They really look like the picture! And they are packaged perfectly...they are well made and I highly recommend them.

So-called hiking shoes are not designed for real hiking. The sole (bottom of the shoe) does not have a full layer of semi-rigid rubber, only on the edges (black part). The rest of the outsole is just exposed midsole material, which is a soft white foam that's likely to get damaged easily and won't last all that long on trails with sharp rocks, sticks, twigs, stickers, etc. The shoe looks decent. These hiking shoes were perfect for my granddaughter's first hike. Good lugs on the outsole for good traction with a flexible sole.

These boots would be perfect if they didn't come out of the box broken. If you look at the picture, one is completely missing the lanyard loop and the other has the metal hook at the top completely broken. *edit* won't let me upload photos.

As previous reviewers have said. My child hates these shoes because his feet are easily tied together and he trips. I will not buy these again nor will I recommend them to anyone.

Great price especially for kids shoes as they grow up fast. My four year old said they were super comfy.! Lightweight so your feet don't get tired. I recommend.

Sturdy, comfortable and great quality! They stayed almost new on all the hikes we've done during the pandemic! Highly recommended.

Well made but smaller than expected. I was hoping my son would grow up in them but they fit perfectly and he will soon outgrow them.

I ordered for my daughter on a trip. She loves them, they're cute and she doesn't complain, so they're very comfortable. They fit as expected.

Update: After I submitted my review of the three broken laces, the seller contacted me almost immediately and offered to send me a new pair of hiking boots. I appreciate that they got it right! My 9 year old put them on for 15 minutes and the part holding the lace ripped into pieces. I am now 2 days before my return window with a broken pair of so-called walking shoes.

Perfect fit, fairly waterproof to full submersion but they still dry very quickly. Super comfy, my son loves it! It has only been a week since my kid started wearing them, but they seem to be sturdy. His PT likes how they fit him as well..

The fit is good, the appearance is nice, but the lace hook is broken on one boot. This is very important for ankle support. Other reviews said the same thing, thought I'd give it a try but part broke off before our first hike. These return.

My 8 year old daughter loved these backpackers. They are comfy and cute! I didn't expect them to be as strong and durable as quality hiking boots, but for what we're going to do, and their age and continued growth, they're great!

I like the look, a bit bulky but if it means secure feet and ankles I won't take it. You look strong! The delivery was very quick. My daughter likes to wear them.

The hook came off when my daughter first wore/hiked these shoes. I have read other reviews on the same subject. I'll listen more carefully next time.

We bought these shoes in May for the summer. We recently got our son to wear them and when he ties his laces the lace broke, two of them. What kind of?

Good walking shoes. I like the high top and the leather-like material, it's very thick, perfect for hiking. Unfortunately several straps broke on one of the shoes. Luckily we had a needle and thread so we could fix it. Just make sure your straps don't break when you tighten the laces.

The shoelaces are very long and must be cut off, otherwise they will get caught on other shoe hooks and the child will trip. The shoes are also very large. I ordered a size 2 in skechers and a size 2 in this and my daughter swam in it while the skechers were fine.

These are shoes. I was looking for hiking shoes, which are basically tennis shoes with a higher ankle. The bottom is foam (like Skechers), not rubber. They feel slippery and have very little grip. I wouldn't be happy with them as tennis shoes either, but they are absolutely NOT suitable for hiking.
