Bought two of these and my daughters love them. They are hand painted, even two of the same color are different (hand painted), the small ones are less detailed because they are hand painted. The finish is semi-gloss, almost matte, but feels comfortable and is suitable for dolls. This money is worth it.

These are of good quality as they are not authentic Russian nesting dolls. My daughter loves to play with her mother's real Russian nest dolls, but I didn't want to spend money on something that's easy to play with. None of them are difficult to open, and it was hard to find one with ten dolls that wasn't super expensive.

Bought this set for my daughter for her 8th birthday and it did not disappoint. These are quality pieces with intricate designs and decorations that I can only assume are hand painted. The dolls kept coming and each was an adorable and unique surprise. Great product from a quality company. I will return to my other children when they are grown.

Bought as a gift. The first doll was painted from 3 to 6. I didn't even take them out of the plastic to see what the other dolls were painted with. I couldn't help but give it as a gift and honestly don't want it in my house. i give it back Be careful before buying. The listing shows it with "squiggles" going the other way, rather than three very different sixes. Extremely disappointed.

great quality love these dolls actually play with them. silly I know but they are so cute the hand painting is so pretty they are a great talking point in the living room and I will definitely be buying another set. I placed them on the mantel above the fireplace and taped pieces of double sided tape to the floor to keep them from moving and the little ones from falling off and getting lost.

Why this product has so many good reviews - I have no idea. The finish is not uniform, it seems that the surface was not sanded precisely before painting. There should also be some sort of sealer on the paintwork to give it a finished look, but there isn't. The wood is brittle, and many parts will not fit together without force, and will creak when pulled apart, even with force. There are also a few pieces that don't hold together. All in all a bad set!

Not bad in general. They are beautifully drawn, open and close well, are very colorful and look like a little doll. My daughter LOVES it and is very happy with it. I don't like that they aren't varnished, there is no glaze or varnish on top of the paint so it feels almost tacky and with a glossy varnish layer it would look much better.
