A little difficult to set up at first. Beautiful and strong. Very happy with how it works. A large door like mine has a gap in the sides so cats can get in and out but a dog can't. Much better than a cat door, but you must have a wide door. My 40 lb dog slips through one of these cat door gates easily. This works much better.

After struggling for months with a cheap wooden fence that was a hassle to open and close, I finally decided to find a better solution. When I first got the gate I thought I mismeasured the opening of the door because it didn't seem to latch! But I kept tightening the blue screws until I got it right (first I screwed them too tight which makes the door not open, I have to find the right spot). The door was installed and operational in less than 3 minutes.

We bought this gate to keep our dogs safe in the house. Installation was very easy and met our expectations for about 4 months. Then the plastic handle broke. We are only two adults in the house and certainly didn't abuse the gate. This product is labeled "Heavy Duty" but it is not. The warranty period is only 30 days, so I would not recommend this product based on our experience. By the way, that was our second goal, the first one was missing parts from the box.

We use this gate at our basement entrance to keep the cat out. We have a commercial microgreen growing area there and it's not allowed in the area. She weighs 8 pounds. and cannot go through the bars. She knows she can't fit in, so she never tries to squeeze through. Kittens I think will do. Our door is 30 inches wide so it fits snugly without having to attach much to the door. If your door is much wider, you may have a gap that a small cat can fit through, but not one that weighs 10 pounds or…

The product itself is excellent. This little Yorkie we have cannot push or move this gate to get into the toilet. Also, the door is good, we don't have to step over the gate anymore, which helps. The only downside, which may or may not make a huge difference, is that the door switch is reversed to open it, and I have a feeling it won't last long.
