I love this hair dye. I wasn't expecting much because it's not tested on animals and contains fewer chemicals, but I was surprised in the end. I think it's better than any light blonde hair color you find in stores like L'Oréal Preference or Excellence. I've been dying my hair blonde for 22 years now. After going vegan it became difficult to justify using an OTC brand. So I took a chance and tried it. Two boxes were included which was a nice bonus. After reading the box, I discovered that it's vegan, not just cruelty-free. The color is great and NO HARD CHEMICAL SMELL! My hair looked amazing and covered the gray better than any drugstore brand I've used! I chose this brand.

I applied a platinum blonde over my medium red blonde that had grown out a lot, with darker roots and more grey. I am pleasantly surprised, it has good coverage, it is easy to use, does not have a strong smell, does not stain, even a coating, I will definitely buy again.

But I kept reordering because it far exceeded my expectations. I have used Herbatint in the past and it was fine, did the job and was less caustic than many. In my experience, other natural brands work just as well or even better. Everything is worth a try.
