Good for its price

Decent set, does the job. However, didn't work well for what I got. The only reason is that the 89 GMC truck steering wheel has threaded bolt holes very close to center and the kit plate doesn't allow them to be fitted that tight so I had to align it off center. But it worked.

The clamp is too soft metal to provide adequate torque amplification.

When I installed the tool with the hardware that came with it, I tightened the screws in two places on the yoke before I started tightening the center screw. I used a ratchet and tightened the center bolt under my own power without using an impact or power tool and after a few turns I noticed the fork started to flex. The description says the fork is heat treated alloy steel for strength and durability, but it might be helpful to include the maximum torque for the center bolt before forces are…

Only two screws available in some sizes

This set looks great in the photo because it appears so comprehensive. Imagine my unhappiness when I realized that I only needed two screws instead of the three screws that almost all other sizes are designed for. If you look at the top right corner of the picture, the top left corner of the box lid, you will see that there are only two screws. That's the size I needed. The puller works well and I like the different tips for the push pin. Just remember that after payment you may still need to…

Broken shaft thread. Not enough screws

I had high hopes for this puller. The first problem was that I only needed two screws. Look at the screws in the body. The two sets of two black screws are 6mm screws. I needed 3 for my snowmobile pulley. Eventually I was able to put enough washers under the third screw to align them properly. But then the thread between the central shaft and the flat bracket broke off. The bracket seemed strong enough, the threading just wasn't enough. I didn't hit the central shaft with a hammer. Maybe I…

Crash on second use

Clamp shared between center coils and slots. This happened the second time I used the tool. It was used on a 5hp air compressor aluminum flywheel. and on the flywheel of a 14hp self-propelled, as the metal is very thin. Thickness less than 1/8 inch. Also the metal is not very hard as the description says "hardened steel". If the tool broke, the threaded central shaft simply rotated. Impossible to wait a week for a new tool, I was able to finish the job by arc welding when it broke and removing…
