HFS (R) Two Axis Welding Clamp (3''): Efficient Solution for Precise Welding Tasks Review

I love these clips. They are so easy to mount at a 90° angle! I use them a lot and now want to buy a pair with a vertical clamp to weld table legs or legs to any project I build.

I used this clamp to join 20 inch 2x3 and 72 inch 3x2 rectangular steel into a T shape. I was able to pinch and center the 3x2 perfectly. The cut on the 72" pipe wasn't perfect, but I trusted the clamp and fastened/welded everything. Measured with vernier calipers and measured 90.0 degrees.

What else can I say from first impressions it's amazing and at $45 definitely a buy. I see some other clips going up to $170. The clamp weighs about 25 pounds, the opening that surprised me is 4.5 inches. If you have a long piece that needs to be clamped, the distance to where you place the metal is 1.25 inches.

I recently bought both 3' and 4' as the title says 'Father and Son'. Wow, they are muscular and have perfect angles. The 3" has a maximum capacity of 3 1/8" and the 4" has a maximum capacity of 4 5/8". The two photos show the open end of the flat pressure tip, I put a splash guard in that area - you need to think ahead to save on your tools! I will recommend.

I really like this clamp! It looks very heavy and well built. The angles are accurate and it can accommodate large and different bearing sizes. The T-handle and screw feel a bit underdeveloped, but this is only to hold things in place while welding, not clamp with Herculean strength! Even with regular use I don't see any problems. If they ever become available I will order the 4 inch model.

Most other heavy duty angle vises like this one on Amazon are much more expensive ($169.00 and up +++). These are strong, heavy, and square vises that can handle up to 4 inches in diameter. Satisfied at the first inspection. I'll test it and if I run into any problems I'll edit it and let you know. I think these photos give you a good starting point. If the quality is confirmed after I welded it I will order 3 more.

I wanted five stars but the little nut on the handle was a little loose and came loose on first use. The stem is lightweight alloy and it was very easy to cut off a few new strands and reattach. And it doesn't matter because you can replace it with something that fits the hole. But considering how good the rest of the angle vise is, it seems a shame to use such a light bar to tighten the vise. and of course not everyone has a 1/2 20 stamp, although if you buy these, you most likely will. Anyway

, I own Wheat State Welding LLC in Derby, Kansas. I bought four of these clips and may buy a few more. All I can say is that they are absolutely amazing, they do what they say and they do it very well. I have almost nothing bad to say about them except for the following points. They're a lot bigger than they look when you order them and they actually have more capacity than advertised. While that's great, it could have been done with a better bolt and hardware on the nut that the bolt turns on.
