Works as expected in aquarium test kits

Works as expected. And for those looking for the difference between the freshwater test and the seawater test and the difference between the HI772 and HI755, there isn't one. Are you looking for it?

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Not everything fits

No more guessing with tints

Have now bought Alkaline, High Nitrate, Low Phosphate, Magnesium, Calcium and used their pH and Salinity testers. The alkalinity test is now so quick that I monitor it every 2-5 days depending on my automated dosing schedule and products.

  • Looking good
Cons

Can't do without this test

A simple test with accurate results. As my corals grow it becomes more and more important to check the alkalinity as they use up what is in my salt mix fairly quickly and without dosing I would have quite large fluctuations in alkalinity during water changes. This is an essential tool in your arsenal.

Pros
  • Satisfied for now
Cons
  • I'll add later

Unreliable on fish and aquatic animals

To be honest, most Hanna testers are reliable and consistent. The calcium tester is an exception. Results for perhaps the second most important variable in your reef tank will never be consistent. I've watched every video and tried every pro tip, even using lab water instead of RO/DI. Unfortunately Hanna missed one, I would recommend the Seifert test.

Pros
  • Niche best
Cons
  • Embarrassing
