Once you understand how to use it, it will work just fine.

Instructions were not included with the ice mold. To actually make bullets, you need to cast the entire body. The easiest way is to fill a large bowl with water and squeeze it until all air bubbles are removed.

I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong or.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what, I don't understand how to fill these things with enough water to make a real ice cream ball. If you had a tiny funnel to go through the holes you might be able to make it work, but outside of the box you can only fill the bottom half, which doesn't expand enough to form a ball. I don't really use this anymore as it's almost impossible to make real ice cream balls out of it.

Requires some technique

Looks exactly like the picture. A small piece of paper with instructions on how to fill it out is also included. However, it's not the most intuitive to use. Adding water and squeezing the top half requires some finesse. Sometimes the longer sides of the silicone top curl inward when filled with water. These gaps can result in water loss or a flat sheet of ice connecting all the ice balls together. After filling, it must be taken with two hands. I personally haven't had any problems with it…

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Has problems

Great for Jell-O

I bought this tray after seeing it on YouTube for jello eye shots. I haven't tried water, but the eyeballs came out fine. I had no problems with the balls coming out in half domes as some people have said. Again, I didn't use water, so I can't comment on that. The same instructions apply to jelly. You fill the bottom shell to the brim, place the top shell on top and gently (evenly) press until it closes completely. In order to get a full jelly ball and not a half dome, the liquid needs to be…

Silicone ice molds are best

I buy different ice molds and it's best to use silicone because the ice comes out very easily. Smaller balls can be made from this mold. than many other brands. They're larger than a regular ice cube, but still small enough to use through a straw in a glass of iced tea. If you're looking for giant whiskey balls, you might want to skip this one. But normal everyday use is the perfect size. The only problem I have with this tray is that it moves. My other silicone bowl was small enough to squeeze
