Misleading Product Description

This description goes on and on about all the domestic and European countries where the components of this filter are manufactured. I should have known it was the flag. MADE IN TAIWAN, it says on the packaging. I wish I had paid a few bucks more for something from a better manufacturer.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Null

I love nuts: Oil filter

I love the nuts on my oil filter, they are easy to remove and Hiflo is a reliable brand that you don't have to worry about. I feel safe knowing that this company is TUV certified so I'm getting a quality oil filter that will get the job done. Do not use the nut on the filter to tighten it when screwing it in, it is meant to be removed.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Negative impression

Works on my 07 DL650 Vstrom

Use this on my Vstrom 2007 DL650. Works great as an OEM replacement. In fact, it's also identical to the K&N filter, except for the lack of a cast nut at the end. This thing wants to spin forever after initial contact with the bike, so be very careful not to over-tighten it than usual. I hand tightened as much as I could, then an additional 1/4 turn with a wide jaw adjustable oil filter wrench. No leaks.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

One of the best M/C filters available.

Supplied pre-lubricated with seal and open end wrapped in shrink wrap to maintain seal lubrication and prevent ingress of dirt. I'm sold to HiFlo! Recommended on motorcycle forums by people who slice them open and say they have high quality internal filter media, bypass valves and anti-drain valves. I used this filter for the first time this afternoon on my DL650 along with a Rotella T6 and will be using both of these filters for the foreseeable future.

Pros
  • GOLS Certified
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Amazing filter for oil filters and accessories

I just recently fitted this to a modified 1997 tl1000s. I didn't think everything would be so good as this is not a branded product. However, after driving it about 500 miles, my friend and I cut it open and found a lot of dirt inside where the filter is on the intake side. In fact, the filtering is better than the K&N I had before. I just want it to be a canister filter or they make canister filters. All I know is that I give this one a good rating because it works really well in high or lowโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Don't use! for oil filter

I installed this filter on my 08 Gixxer 1000 track bike and rode two track days with this filter. Halfway through the second day I got a black flag. I got to the hot pits where they told me I smoke. I returned to my hole and started investigating. I found that oil was leaking from the seam where the bolt head attached. It looks like the spot weld or whatever it was attached to failed. I am very fortunate that my bike bottomed out and at over 150 mph oil spilled on the rear wheel and it wasโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Reliability

Not suitable for oil filter

I bought this filter for my 2003 Suzuki DL1000 V Strom. This is the filter that was mentioned here when searching for this bike. Today I wanted to install a new filter that was not screwed into the engine. If you look at the threads in the filter and on the motor, it has a different pitch. Luckily, Revain has agreed to refund the purchase price and not require the filter to be returned. But I'm wondering what kind of filter other than the OEM filter actually fits this bike and meets the OEMโ€ฆ

Pros
  • handy item

  • so far so good
