Great if you have experience with microcontrollers

Includes information on how to install the board and libraries under the Arduino IDE and VSC with PIO. Currently used for the open source project HASviolet LoRa on GitHub.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Fits

The pinout on the product page is wrong.

The block delivered was V2, but on the picture V1. Some minor but problematic changes have been made. Basically just a 5V pin and 2 new 3V3 output pins. It's quite frustrating when you used a diagram to create circuit boards and now they're for the wrong circuit board.

Pros
  • Only positive
Cons
  • Without automatic

Fun to play with, don't expect range with antennas on

I have three now. Transmitters, receivers and repeaters. Arduino IDE works fine. The Heltec library is easy to use. The supplied antennas are junk. I'm a little concerned about the RF chip preparation even when I use them. antenna order plan. Serial antennas float a few meters apart at -70 RSSI. Signal penetration is weaker than WiFi. Be sure to check the pin assignment! If you are planning a device based on these boards I would first order all the boards you need as there seem to be differentโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Solid build
Cons
  • No power

Terrible support for LoraWan libraries.

Spent many hours getting this board to work with OTAA join TTN The Things Network. Study carefully before investing in this board. They fork libraries to support their "license" for the board. Their libraries are compiled with various errors and do not reflect the latest available libraries (MCCI LMIC). I've had many problems trying to get these boards to chain to 915MHz gateways. It could be time, it could be their codebase, it could be their hardware - who knows. I know other boards (e.gโ€ฆ

Easy to use, good quality

I used this Heltec board named "Wifi Lora 32 (V2)" in the board manager on a Windows 10 computer via Arduino IDE. After reading the documentation on their website for reading the documentation, I took the following steps to get started with this board (see the product description notes for the link to the full manual which includes information on where to find the documentation): 1) Download the Board configuration by adding the board url, searching in the board manager and then installingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
