No complaints Maybe the board has been updated?

I was a bit skeptical about the purchase due to the mixed reviews and problems reported by some reviewers with downloading. I had no trouble using the Arduino and setting the board to "ESP32 Developer Module". Flashes without having to hold down the button. Several sample sketches I tried worked fine, including the WiFi client/server. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for an ESP32 based board to experiment with.

Guess. - Single board computer

I couldn't get this device to flash through the Arduino no matter how hard I tried. I would get this error: Connecting._____._____._____._____._____._____.____ There was an error uploading the sketch. You need to hold the button for a second or two and then release it while blinking. After the first firmware was completed via the espressif app, I was able to carry out the subsequent firmware as normal via Arduino. So far the device works well. Thank you HiLetgo

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Big and bulky

The most difficult board I have ever had to work with.

This is by far the hardest board I have ever had to work/program with. It hurts my neck so much. I will definitely be returning to the Arduino after the hell I went through before I could even get it to respond. A NOTICE. You need drivers from Silabs AND drivers for CH340 before your computer will recognize it (at least I had to). And Silabs have really bad explanations for their drivers so I just downloaded and installed about 3 of their windows drivers. both times with no response), I FINALLY

  • Great Price

Had problems with Arduino programming

Works great once I figure it out: I was able to program this board using esptool.py @download.config on the image I downloaded from the espressif site . However, I could not program with the Arduino. The Arduino uses esptool.py to program the board, but it passes a lot of parameters. I hacked the following and voila it worked. It looks like some kind of handshake timing issue. It should be noted that other ESP32 development boards are programmed perfectly with the standard platform.txt file…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
