The VL6180x sensor is great overall and I've had great luck with HiLetgo products so far. While the TOF sensor works fine, I couldn't get the ambient light sensor to work on any of the modules I received. I've tried three different libraries - no result in all cases. HiLetGo, I received these vl6180lx boards and they don't work. In February I bought 2 pieces from you. Stepper motor driver for CNC Shield V4 3D printer and it required 5 track cuts and 3 jumpers on the board to work. I have received good products from HiLetGo in the past, but now everything just seems to be rubbish. Please, we need working parts.

I used this sensor to measure the level (after removal) of a mechanical gauge on my 300+ gallon oil tank. At first I wasn't sure if the laser wavelength would penetrate the sensor's plastic shell, but it did! I taped the sensor to the top of the sensor and then connected VIN, GND, SHDN, SDA to my ESP8266 at pins VIN, GND, D1 and D2 (see pictures). 01/28/21- HiLetgo 2pcs VL6180X Both devices received on time, one worked and passed the basic test, the other didn't. Wasn't active on the bus. Placed a 47K resistor on SHDN (GPIO0) on Vcc and the device became active and passed the basic test. There are 47K and diodes on board.
