Review on 🔍 HiLetgo 2pcs VL6180X Optical Range Finder Sensor Module with Gesture Recognition, I2C Interface, 3.3V/5V, Emitter and Ambient Light Sensor by Darth Calder

The VL6180x sensor is great overall and I've had great luck with HiLetgo products so far. While the TOF sensor works fine, I couldn't get the ambient light sensor to work on any of the modules I received. I've tried three different libraries - no result in all cases. Also, you may notice that this module does not have a jumper to select pull-up resistors to support longer wires. I'm assuming he doesn't have internal pull-ups. I ran into an unstable output problem and solved it by adding external pull-up resistors to the sda and scl I2c bus lines. The price is pretty low. One wonders if they will eliminate defective production.
