Poorly designed internals

Well, as I understand it, the heatsink isn't big enough to properly cool the thermal side. After testing different airflow rates, the fan can't even force enough air to cool it below 40F. It's not worth it. It's better to buy the parts separately and put them on the right heatsink like I have to do.

It works well if you know how to use it

Peltier chips are cooled by a water circulation pump. The pump must be running whenever power is applied to the chips. The fan should blow cool air around whatever you are cooling. Unlike other devices, the fan has nothing to do with cooling the Peltier element. Many reviewers don't seem to get that. I wasn't sure if it should be installed through the radiator wall. I tried it like this as an experiment, but it cooled better when everything was inside. It is good that there are only small holes

This rating is for the six-chip version. I think it's well made with quality components. The fan is a bit noisy, which is my only (though minor) complaint. FYI Peltier devices have a complex relationship between differential temperature and supply current. These devices are not the most efficient at their maximum currents and have many criteria to keep them efficient. With the test rig I built today, I believe this device will serve my purpose of cooling 12 35Ah SLA batteries in a shed where…
