🔒 Hiplok Z LOK Combo: The Ultimate Multi-Use Security Tie & Bike Lock Review

I liked that this is a light weight lock that I can easily carry around on my bike and use to lock up near the store so the two of me don't have to worry about that Bike needs minutes while I was out, but after about three days of use the lock wouldn't open. Luckily I had a knife and a leatherman to cut it. I didn't buy this lock thinking it would be a high security option but I was hoping it would lock and unlock when I need it.

I needed two locks but had to buy four because the first two hiplocks broke right away. The first jammed, did not open. The second didn't close no matter what combination I set, it just opened. Along with Ottolock, I took two working hiplocks to Burning Man. On the first day, one of the hiplocks got stuck on his bike. It didn't open. I was ready for this and grabbed the wire cutters. the combination panel part is defective on both of the devices I bought. The combination worked for a while and then stopped. This happened two weeks after purchase for the first and a month later for the second. I called after the first one didn't accept the combination and asked if there was a 'reset code' I could use so I didn't have to cut the strap and said it wasn't. I bought four of these. Two had to be returned, hence the four stars. Combinations will not be installed. They were pinched right out of the box. (One got stuck and wouldn't open, the other opened with any combination no matter what you installed.) Also, I like this lightweight lock for situations where I can keep eye contact with the bike, or in places like the Burning Mann. where only a deterrent is needed. They are easy to transport and store on the bike. I keep mine on the seat rails. Also,

Great cafe lock to be used with a bike in sight. It's lightweight, wraps around the seatpost and secures the tire. It is short and may not be long enough to attach to some stationary objects.
