🚗 Enhanced Tesla Model Y Hitch Cover Review

This is by far the best accessory I have ever bought for a Tesla. If you have a model with a trailer hitch, you need it. Fits perfectly, works great and looks like Tesla. Easy to install and easy to use. No more curious Tesla covers.

Expensive for a hitch cover but well worth it - much easier to remove and replace than the factory version which requires prying and scraping around the hitch - Tesla should include something similar if you get a hitch factor .

The cover works much better than the original Tesla cover. I would give it 5 stars if the color was closer to the plastic around it which is dark blue. I can cut the (broken) tabs off the original cap and glue them together with epoxy.

This is a great design except the unit I received is off center. I have a 2021 Model Y with a VIN under 200,000. The towbar was installed by Tesla before delivery. As you can see in the photo the clutch cover is off center and has a gap on the right side. Otherwise this case works.

I really wanted to like this because the Tesla cover is very poorly constructed and difficult to put on and take off. Unfortunately it doesn't fit well and overhangs the fender by about 3mm on one side. And yes, I have a Y with a VIN below 200,000. It's a lot easier to turn on and off than the OEM, but for the price, I expected a better fit.

Paying for a towing package and getting coverage that needs a look is absurd. Not to mention the thin lugs on the bumper and trunk that break too easily. Assembly fits this cover. You have created a great alternative. Easy to use, insert finger and pull. I'm worried about theft, but so far so good.

Tesla really did a terrible job with the clutch cover. Just search the internet. This replacement is orders of magnitude better. Insert it by inserting the square piece into the receiver, then I smack it with my palm to push it all the way through. To get out you have to pull a little, but it's not very difficult.
