Review on πŸš— Enhanced Tesla Model Y Hitch Cover by John Mceachern

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Much better than the OEM cover

Tesla really did a terrible job with the clutch cover. Just search the internet. This replacement is orders of magnitude better. Insert it by inserting the square piece into the receiver, then I smack it with my palm to push it all the way through. To get out you have to pull a little, but it's not very difficult. Just put your finger through the hole and pull it out. This requires a little push. It doesn't come out without effort but is a godsend compared to an OEM cap. However, there are a few improvements that would take it from 4 to 5 stars. 1 - With a hole in there you could get water in and it looks like the water is sitting in the receiver. I think this is a possible rust problem. You should take care of the drainage. I plan to drill a hole to make this possible. 2 - You could do it with a spring loaded cap so there is no hole. Then you really have to look closely to see the difference between this one and the OEM.3 - I think it might have a slightly weaker spring and you might not have to worry about it falling out. That would make it easier to remove. If you push my little door (#2 above) maybe it can release the lock with a deadbolt instead of the springs currently used. But the point is, if I lose that, I come back for another.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Vulgarity
