FINALLY! ! ! I can boil quite a lot of water and not have to worry about the container bursting - I don't like using plastic jugs. The jug is very fragile, the glass is thin, but I filled it and the jug held the weight as did the handle. My hand fits in the jar, an important feature for me because I don't like using these sponges on a stick. I made tea with lemon this morning and took a photo - also very visually appealing.

This pot is great because I don't have to use two different containers to make iced tea. The possibility of pouring boiling water directly into the pot is very practical. Really nice pitcher and love that I can pour boiling water in to make iced tea right in. However, as the title of my review suggests, when pouring with the lid closed, the liquid gets stuck at the top of the lid and then, after standing up, flows out of the spout, runs down the side of the jug and depending on how prepared and fast you are, with it cloth or paper. This mug is just what I was looking for! It has glass that protects well from stains and chemicals. It might not be ideal if you have kids, but otherwise it's great. It pours easily from the spout and the handle is comfortable. I mainly use mine for tea, but it works well for other beverages as well. The glass is too thin when I opened the box I was shocked at how cheap and fragile it seemed based on the rave reviews for this jug. I was afraid it would eventually break as many bad reviews say.
