Definitely helps reduce wind noise. Especially handy when I'm on the phone with the Sena 10c. The downside is that he doesn't like to speak on the spot. When I take my helmet off, I pull it out almost every time. In the end I have to glue it to the chin of the helmet.

Chin bar is decent. It does what it has to do: keep bugs and dirt out. I think it reduces the wind a bit too, but it's mesh so it still lets a lot of air through. Don't expect this to reduce wind noise. . (The FG-17 is pretty loud anyway.) Still, $10 seems like a lot for what it is and the amount of material. Otherwise I think it's pretty good.

It doesn't block all the wind, but it definitely blocks it. I live in Southern California and this helps with my morning commute. During the day, when the air warms up into the mid 80's, there is still enough airflow to be comfortable. It also protects my helmet from bugs which is great. The thing should be in all full face helmets in my opinion but mostly not like my HJC FG-17. I ride a bare/regular bike and no protection/windbreak on the bike, lots of turbulence washing my chin into my breathing chamber. Dust or dirt and even small insects could get in, which is at best a distraction and at worst dangerous. First, I've seen a lot of feedback that the chin guard doesn't stay secure. I suspect these users didn't have it fully installed. On my big FG-17, it took a lot of effort to get the tabs to fit completely between the shell and the EPS.
