Will not cut through .030 " wire

Pliers look good. You are cozy. But the wire cutters don't close well enough to cut the .030 inch wire I used for my sheet metal project. It just kind of kneads it. So back to my trusted (and cheaper) channel lock cutters for the job. If you need pliers I would look elsewhere.

  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Wrinkled

No Wire Cutters - Welding and Soldering

The pliers I have does everything your MIG welder needs except cut the welding wire. This is one of my favorite mistakes, but I usually only find it on cheap needle nose pliers that I buy in a hurry. Didn't expect that from Holbart's tongs. They don't cut cleanly and leave just enough that you have to lower your pliers and pull them out with your fingers. It looks like the cutter was not properly sharpened and misaligned. Okay, back to the nose of the needle.

This is Brand New Never Used

YeEHaa! IT IS BRAND NEW AND NEVER BEEN USED. Not like the old ones that I had to adjust/remake, tighten before use. Unfortunately, you can't sharpen old knives, so you'll have to learn how to cut. But I have very high hopes for this one. I will enjoy it every day and no one else will be able to touch it. It will be in my front pocket or maybe in a shoulder holster. Aha! Or maybe the secret inner zip pocket in my shooting vest. Now I have used it. Wow. It's nice that you don't have to fold and…

They work well but poor quality

I was expecting pliers from the famous Hobart brand to be a bit better than Chinese imports from local cheap import tool shops. I hadn't seen them in store before buying but figured it would be worth a few bucks more to get a nice brand name. It turns out that's not the case, and you can get Chinese imports at a lower price and you'll be fine. They are rough, unkempt and look exactly how I expected them to. They work, hence 4 stars. Mine cut the wire, cleaned the tabs and it works, which is a…

Rough rubbish, avoid

Decided to risk it because of the coupon but immediately regretted it. The quality of this item is very unsatisfactory and more in line with what you might get from a $2 tool kit from a local Chinese crap dealer. The handles are very small in length and diameter compared to most MIG style pliers including other Chinese made pliers. The workmanship is rough, with a rough finish, a rough working hinge and a weak spring. There is only a hint of texture on the outside of the pliers tongs, so they…

Hobart, what happened?

First off, let me say that I didn't expect extremely high quality from a $12 pair of pliers, but I figured I'd at least get something above Harbor Freight's Pittsburgh brand . I was very dissatisfied to find that these pliers had at least a 1/64th gap between the jaws, as well as a terrible mismatch of the sides. The side cutter blades didn't close perfectly, which is unacceptable to me when you're using them to cut .030 wire. What also really annoyed me was that these pliers had burrs on…
