Complete garbage is good for infrared thermometer

Not even remotely measuring high temperatures. Must turn off to reset. It was tilted hundreds of degrees and couldn't take a second reading.

Loses calibration for Test, Measure & Inspect

They gave reasonable readings at first, but after about 10 minutes of use they slid into the absurd regardless of the emissivity setting. Like 135F skin surface temperature when standing indoors at any emissivity setting. The cycle appears to repeat itself after a long enough pause - a few reasonable readings and then the deep end. I contacted support and got a quick reply but the conversation died out and now I can't access Revain. Seems like a bet on whether I'll get a good one.

Great for Raynaud and Erthromelagia

My son bought this for his own use as he is really learning the melting and boiling points of all sorts of things. However, it had unintended medicinal uses for me. I was recently diagnosed with Raynaud's syndrome and erythomagia which means monitoring my skin temperature is VERY important to protect me from sores and possibly worse. Not very happy with this tool.

So the shipping of this thermometer was pretty quick, that's good. Now it's not so good. The sensor only seems to "work" half the time I use it; and by work I mean enabling and showing the reading. When the reading appears, it remains in Celsius despite my attempts to change that setting to Fahrenheit. The instructions that came with it don't really help. HoldPeak 1800 and 985C-APP work pretty well, with some tweaks it would be great!

First of all I bought both HoldPeak 1800 and HoldPeak 985C-APP right after the release (I had them for an hour). The HP-1800 is +0.3% different than my existing ThermoWorks unit (very VERY old LCD is fading and needs replacing, but as it's still very accurate I might just be looking for a new screen).
