Good unit. on the fuel system

BB Put Ford on the road after 5 years. The mechanical pump has failed. Used because it met the requirements of the Edelbrock card. Easy installation. Custom suspension built. Make sure your key connection can handle 5 extra amps, or start (quality) the relay. Good unit.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Sounds like a pneumatic hammer

Bought to replace a noisy electric pump but this one is even louder. It has the sound of a jackhammer at about 5 blows per second. I'll probably put it on my workbench to pump oil, but it doesn't belong in a car. Do not buy this pump on anything newer than a 1956 Dodge truck.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Hard to say

The pump is junk for Performance Parts & Accessories

I installed it on my 350 with a 750 Holley with a carburetor inlet pressure gauge. This is advertised as 4-7psi, it was originally 3psi and dropped to 2psi after about 4 hours of operation. I, too, had to stop every mile, fill up on my carbs, and drive back home. This pump is junk, holly, you're selling junk, even if it's made in the USA.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Works well. a bit noisy, but quieter than cheaper versions

First, yes, it's a "pass-through" pump, and it lets fuel through when it's off. I use it to fill up my carbs after my truck has been sitting for over 2 days. I have it with a momentary push button switch and I run it for 3-5 seconds then I crank it and my mechanical pump kicks in from that point. It works (although I only run it for a few seconds at a time) for months - still going strong.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • weak

Inefficient AND LOUD

As others have said, this thing is LOUD. Even with the windows down on my old 1978 K15 you can still hear the thing rattling. To make matters worse, IT WILL NOT PROCURE ITSELF. Eventually I gave in and disconnected the fuel line from the carburetor, sucked in the fuel until it was full, and then everything worked fine. I have a colleague who suggests that I put a fill light on it, like on an outboard motor for your boat. Rschunimagu. I didn't have to do that crap to use Holly's product.

Absolute rubbish! on Electric Fuel Pumps

When you see a name like Holley, you are assured that you are receiving a quality product. This was not the case with this particular product. I decided to try the product despite the reviews, thinking user error might be the reason. I was wrong, so wrong The description says it reaches 7psi, in reality you are lucky to get 1.5psi. I believe this is a cheap fake so be careful. For example I will replace it with a quality product and that will go in the bin where it belongs.

Neat product. money well spent.

Engine off; This pump is noisy until the line is pressurized. You never hear it with the engine running. I use it as a helper for my mechanical pump on a D150 pickup. If necessary, it could only work with a (carburettor) engine. If the power to this electric pump was lost, my mechanical pump still didn't seem to have any fuel delivery problems. I recommend that you enable the "Turn off engine" solution as suggested in the installation guide. The pump is self-adjusting, and if the pump is left…

It served its purpose but was according to

I used this pump to replace an old secondary pump that failed after 20 years. This pump is located (outside the tank) about midway between the bottom and the center of the tank. It pushes fuel up to about 18 inches and through about 8 feet of fuel line. It easily supplies enough fuel and pressure for a Holley 390 sitting on my inline 6 2.8 liter engine. It's not as quiet as advertised. Actually very loud. I hear the pump when the car is running and when I'm in the driver's seat. It's not a…
