I really wanted this to work for my 15 lb cat with a 9" neck and 15" chest but I feel the position of the D-ring creates a situation , in which if i am furry boy gets scared or excited and decides to run it will choke him. I wish there was another D ring at the bottom of the harness so the jerk goes around his waist and not his neck! I had to go back.

This is the second cat holster I have bought. I love this harness and immediately went back to this product the first time my cat outgrew it. I can walk my cat without feeling like it's being strangled by a regular collar. This vest offers comfort for the cat as well as CONTROL for the wearer. He holds her body, not her neck. The cat doesn't mind and has now gotten used to the bandage. She sees the vest, she knows the time is up.

We have gotten a few of these for our cat over the years, he is mainly an indoor cat but we can let him into our fenced yard and monitor him better when he's wearing his vest. As another reviewer mentioned, we attach velcro at the neck to create a V-neck - much more comfortable and less tight. The velcro will wear down over time with frequent use, but we like this holster a lot better than any other holster or harness we've seen. I had high hopes but our cat was able to slip her paws between the collar and collar, pull her front paws out and quickly escape the harness.
