Great for stopping oil leaks

Very well constructed for a small gasket. I bought mine to fit the governor shaft on a Honda GCV lawn mower engine and it stopped the slight oil leak that seems to be common with these engines.

Pros
  • Builds confidence
Cons
  • Almost never

Honda GCV160 governor shaft seal worked great!

Used to seal the governor shaft on a Honda GCV160. Worked great and now oil no longer leaks out of that hole and seeps into the back of the motor.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some little things

Genuine Honda part.

Easy installation, instructions on You Tube. The perfect solution to a small but annoying oil leak. I still don't know why Honda didn't put these seals in when they were made.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Modern

Oil leakage problem solved.

I saw a puddle of oil on top of the deck. The leak was found on the governor shaft going through a hole in the side of the engine. After installing the stuffing box around the shaft, the oil leaks stopped. Do not overfill the oil pan as this can also cause the shaft to leak!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some problems

Crazy little seal changed the world

New Honda powered Husqvarna mower arrived. It worked great and cut great but left puddles of oil. Did some research and it seems Honda, trying to save a few cents, didn't put this seal on their lawnmower engines so it would leak out on the hills (Bad QA Honda)! Luckily a lot of people had problems and I found the part I needed to prevent a leak thanks to a YouTube video. The seal was expensive at Revain, but they had it and fixed the leak! Installation literally took 5 minutes or less. SO…

Original Honda part but not suitable for older engines (over 20 years old)

Advantages: Original Honda part in Honda packaging. The inner diameter corresponds to the size of the protruding governor shaft. Bad luck: Apparently Honda has made structural changes to the casting in the relevant area on its GCV160 engines. The sides of the governor shaft bore on my engine are narrowed creating a tapered bore that makes it impossible to install this oil seal. This part is intended for installation in a flat-bottomed, straight-walled duct. I didn't know there were design…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Exchange possible

Do not exceed torque. best in parts

The shaft sealing rings fit perfectly. First I wiped it with a thin layer of grease 00 (a few drops of oil from the dipstick is enough) I removed the control lever. roll pin. Hold the governor shaft with pliers, remove the clamp, and while holding the governor shaft with the pliers, push the gasket into the hole (you don't want to accidentally push the shaft into the crankcase while sliding the gasket around the shaft .Hold her tight!) Attention! All DIYers with a 10mm wrench. The governor arm…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Works perfectly and easy to install

I bought this small O-ring seal for my Honda washing machine. My engine kept leaking very slowly and I couldn't figure out why. So I searched on YouTube and a very nice person posted a video about exactly this problem with all Honda vertical engines. Unfortunately, all of these engines do not come with a small O-ring, a seal provided by the manufacturer. I suspect Honda is trying to save pennies. The gasket is a little pricey for its size considering it only cost about 5 cents to make, but it…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
