It's in my 10 gallon tank temp 79 but during the day the water temp can go up to 80-81 due to 2 x 15 watt bulbs. I keep holding on to the glass with suction cups, but they don't hold. I can live with it, as long as I see it I'm happy.

At 5 to 10 watts per gallon, this 100 watt heater should be used in a 10 to 20 gallon aquarium. We use it at 15 Tall to provide a better heater than the really old heater we've had there for 20+ years. His temperature is stable and there have been no problems so far. This heater is really good and I love the screen so you always know the temperature. Very easy to set up and change the temperature. Even if the power fails, it remembers the set temperature. I had a problem at first and I kept getting an error saying it wasn't in the water. He's been playing with it and turning it off over and over again and now it's finally working great!

You simply connect it to your aquarium and it slowly regulates the temperature to the desired value. It has an adjustment knob on the cord and a digital display on the heater itself that you can see as you set the temperature. I usually use EHEIM Jager 100 watt aquarium heaters in my aquariums. While I haven't had any issues with the Jager heater, it lacks some basic features. It has a digital temp gauge on the heater which I believe is accurate. If you hesitate between 50W or 100W, choose 100W.
