Firstly, given the price, this collar is better than expected. I bought one in July, one for each of our Bernese Mountain Dogs. But only today, October 6, part of the skin that attaches the buckle to the collar has come off. The metal rivets holding the collar together popped out and the leather was torn as well. The second collar appears intact and secure. This may be a factory defect, but when you receive the collars, please check them carefully before putting them on dogs. Still good collars

I bought this collar for my daughter's dog. She wanted it for her pup because it's a good price and looks really cool. We got it 5 months ago and it's still holding up. Dakota is now almost 8 months old. I never write reviews but I have to say. My daughter walked Dakota and one of our larger dogs, Houston. She came across a house that didn't have a dog on a leash (they never walk) and he ran towards her. The owner yelled at him but he didn't listen and approached our dogs with his hair standing

I got this to protect my small dog's neck from being attacked. He tends to start fights with larger dogs and the last time he did that his carotid artery was punctured and he almost died. This collar is very thick and the spikes provide protection without hurting the other animal. Since he's the instigator, I don't need a collar with sharp spikes that could hurt another dog.
