Hopkins Agility Simple Brake Control Plug-in (Model: 47294) Review

Once I figured out where and how to connect it to the Ford factory connector it was easy to install, the instructions said to install on the side of the steering wheel , I installed this on the left, there was enough wire length in the wire to do it. I am happy with my purchase as there are many different brands of controllers on the market!

I've been using the Hopkins timer controller for years and finally needed a new one. It was easy to install. The fork matched my old fork. The bracket features slots that allow for near-parallel installation. Adjustments were easy to make and braking was no problem. Like I'm not towing a trailer. Very responsive and smooth regardless of speed. I'm towing a 10kg trailer with a 2007 Chevy Express.

Revain show a lifetime warranty on this brake controller @ under "Made by @ Hopkins Towing Solutions" in the Lifetime Warranty chart on all their brake controllers ? Pep Boys emailed me to contact Hopkins at (800) 524-1485 for help with a trade guarantee. This is the incorrect phone number listed on the attorney's phone line. I have a copy of the warranty card which I will attach to this review.

TL:DR - Bought as new; Came out of the box with a defective unit. Returned Product description was like new, shipped in original packaging (opened). Arrived in regular brown Revain bubble wrap. Everything was in the box (open) but there was a noticeable open gap in one corner of the device as if the device had been dropped previously. I went straight to the recovery process as it is proportional, so of course such a fall meant a possible problem with the inertial mechanism (pendulum).

I wasn't 100% clear but this product comes without a strap/connector. There are 4 wires coming out of the box and about 3 inches long to reach the outlet. To get the male side, the wiring harness for your truck needs to be purchased separately. I cut off the plug and plugged it in directly, but I'm a bit annoyed by the design, which is why I bought a second one. 4 stars because the controls work very well. This is my second agility control. Both work very well when adjusting the sensitivity and braking level for the best trailer/RV control. The smaller tractor needed a lower setting (to compensate for more braking) and the larger needed slightly less sensitivity, but these adjustments are easy to make on the fly. I originally bought this to replace an old Hopkins Brake Force that had failed. Installation was a breeze as the dash mount holes were the same and the plug in simple connector was the same as I already had. Yay.
