Easy installation - wiring

Plug and play. Pull the safety wire backwards from the front left frame. Tie the flat wire to the fishing wire and pull it towards the front of the truck.

Hopkins 56000 Towed Plug-In Kit

Kit performs the functions described by Hopkins. Hopkins customer service was great when I asked questions about a product. The length of the wiring harness between the taillights may be slightly longer for ease of installation and maintenance of the taillight assembly. An important feature for me is that it can be connected to the vehicle's wiring harness without cutting/splicing the original wiring. I recommend this kit for Ford Escape.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Other

Works great in my 2013 F-150 Super Crew for towing behind our RV. I wish I had installed this initially, but the price has always put me off. It's quite expensive for what it is and the moldings are fairly cheap and not OEM quality as one would expect for the price. But he does his job and works.

Pros
  • Turns on taillights and turn signals on a towed vehicle to safely warn other drivers.
Cons
  • Expensive.

Excellent solution for towing a boat

This plug and play wiring kit is the simplest, hassle-free solution for installing toad/dinghy wiring for RV towing. No changes to the standard wiring, in contrast to the diode kit solutions. No need to drill and remake headlights like individual bulb and socket kits. Not as expensive as some kits like MOPAR for Jeeps. This kit is similar to the Tow Daddy that Hopkins bought. In a word, a great product.

Pros
  • No cutting or splicing required for quick and easy installation
Cons
  • In case of trouble

Good quality wire. connectors on the other side.

Good quality wire. Connectors, on the other hand, are cheap. They also have a connector at the end of the post where it connects to the trailer when it should be a 'female' connector. So in the end when I finished connecting all this it didn't work and I sent the goods back. This product is a waste of my time and money. I spent 6 hours installing, troubleshooting and uninstalling the product.

Pros
  • Mounting bracket and all required hardware included
Cons
  • Discontinued

Almost too easy. wired

Fits easily on my 2012 F150. Remove the taillight assembly. Disconnect the electrical plugs and plug in the supplied plugs, replace the taillights and route the four-wire cable and plug to the front of the vehicle. Connect the cable from the tractor to the four-wire connector and you're done. The hardest part was running the four-wire cable under the truck, and it took about thirty minutes. I was very pleased with the ease of installation and operation of the lamps.

Pros
  • Isolates a towed car with built in diodes to protect your RV
Cons
  • Low repairability
