Can't help it. I find turning knives with water stones to be a relaxing Zen experience. My knives are of the highest quality. So I decided my whetstones should be the same. Arashiyama is an integral part of the Zen state, the process of attaining the state of an ultra-sharp knife. I also have an 800 grit chosera stone and dresser block to complete my sharpening tool set. I am very happy with this spray stone, the quality is amazing.

I rarely give 5 stars but wow ARASHIYAMA! I have Shapton pro 320, 1k and 5k. 320 and 1k are amazing, 5k is ok, I wanted better. Now I have ARASHIYAMA! It's splash and go, it's very smooth as silk, can do more than just polish, it cuts well, no need to fill the gap between this and a 1k stone. It wears out slowly and is the perfect size. 6K is not good, but it corresponds to the description, maybe less than 6500. More than enough for everyday use of knives. The size is not a brick, but for a brick-sized stone, you have to pay more than 70 minutes. comes with a bamboo base which i like my stone has full support to prevent it from breaking.
