The ink ran out quickly. Terrible cartridge. Don't buy from Raven.

This cartridge is defective. The ink ran out in less than 6 months. I hardly use the printer - maybe 5 pages a week. My last cartridge lasted almost 5 years - I bought it directly from HP. I feel cheated after this purchase and will never buy this product from Revain again.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Good print quality, too expensive

Excellent quality HP toner, easy to install. Knowing that real toner is cheap, HP takes what the market will bear and packs a small amount of the cartridge. That's not green. It wastes the hefty plastic inside the cartridge. When buying a new printer, consider another brand that has a cheaper toner cost per page.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Style 90

Bought through Revain and reloaded mid-April. Used regularly in a busy household. In 2-3 weeks (that's only about 2 months of use!) the print in the middle of the page (lengthwise) fades a lot no matter how I pull, twist or shake it. Poor print quality = unusable. I had the best experience with full carts. I think about my next step.

Pros
  • Bought finally
Cons
  • Ribbon

Poor print quality in grayscale or shades, black just legible

This is not the same print quality as any previous "genuine" cartridges I have purchased. Gray tones do not have good coverage and no noticeable banding. All black print is very light. Also, toner bleeds on the green stripes. It's no better than some of the "compatible" / remanufactured cartridges I've bought for a lot less.

Cons
  • Expensive

Toner in two packs.

Two packs save you a few bucks and boxes stacked together fit neatly on a shelf. They break up easily. I stayed away from generic cartridges for two reasons. It's not really a gas station. The HP LaserJet toner cartridge isn't just fresh toner, it's essentially a new machine. The drum in the cartridge is new, while the regular cartridge contains a used drum that has just fresh (?) toner added to it. Anyone familiar with laser printers knows that other brands of laser printers need to replace…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some cons

I always use genuine toner cartridges for my HP printers. Once the printer detects a non-genuine cartridge, the warranty is void as stated in the manual. The cartridge is stable, always prints very clear documents. HP cartridges always print more documents than specified. I want the printer to last, and since it and the MFP have a lot of things that can break, I'll spend a few bucks more and buy a genuine cartridge. Looks like one less thing to worry about. I've seen other people use…

Good Toner: Printer ink and toner

What I like about my HP LaserJet P1606dn printer is that the cost of the toner doesn't break me. I don't spend much on toner at all compared to my color inkjet printers. Between my constant use on work-from-home days and everyday use by the rest of my family on their school projects, we still need to replace the toner maybe twice a year. When I compare that to the cost of our inkjet supplies, that's a small amount. (Although I've set all of the computers in my house to use the LaserJet by…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great toner but big output and fast!

My saying: When ordering groceries, I rarely look at the brand name when I know it's good. My only exception is spa supplies, electronics and computer supplies. I've had several HP printers over the years and the only thing I haven't skimped on is toner supplies. Regardless of the price, I always use original HP toner cartridges. Remanufactured and compatible toners are not always reliable and sometimes void your HP product warranty. 78A is a great toner and every page comes out clean and…

Give it a gentle incline and press on it.

I've done the recommended tilt a few times (back and forth, not sideways or you will damage the toner). Pull out the used cartridge and insert a new one. Turned on the printer and sent the page to the printer. The page ended seven seconds after Win sent it to the printer. It was a clean and perfectly crisp black print. The great thing about this technology - and has been for over 25 years - is that you get a new drum with every new cartridge, effectively getting you a new printer. (Note that…
