Crazy expensive but still the best for its print quality HP

This 4-pack of Original HP cartridges costs 5 times more than many compatible branded original cartridges. It's very tempting to buy a generic brand when your printer needs to be replaced. However, I have found from personal experience that paying $100 for genuine HP cartridges is better than buying something that costs around $20. protected compared to any generic brand. In March 2020 after reading positive reviews I bought a generic brand just to save a few nice bucks and see if it works for…

Not compatible with printer

Although it says it is a genuine HP cartridge, the HP printer does not recognize the ink. Must be a Tier 2 product or HP cartridge clone.

Poor printer ink and toner

I foolishly bought third party cartridges which were terrible. After learning my lesson, I bought genuine HP replacement cartridges as soon as possible. Everything was fine until I opened the box. I was surprised to see that none of the cartridges were individually sealed like every other HP (or brand for that matter) toner cart in the past. I replaced the magenta first and instead of seeing "Genuine HP Toner" on the LCD, I got an unknown toner cartridge. Just not again! I went to Staples and…

My printer, fax, copier and scanner do not recognize these cartridges. For $104 it will be easier to find a cheaper car! Unfortunately my machine WILL NOT WORK without all the ink cartridges. This caused a delay in submitting important documents. Love shopping from home but don't worry about returning items! I do NOT recommend. It is too difficult for me to get it to the post office to return it, otherwise it will be returned a day after delivery. After contacting support, they send a…

False advertising of inkjet ink

Do not buy these cartridges as they are not "new originals" as advertised. I have already returned one package and the next one is exactly the same. There is no plastic tape on the metal conductors and ink outlets. They were clearly refilled somewhere, not at HP. I don't pay that much money for used cartridges that aren't even properly boxed.

Pros
  • Useful beyond the intended use
Cons
  • Exchange possible

All ink cartridges are overpriced

HP makes a great product but like everything else it's the ink that makes the money. On the other hand, I've had the 8600 for a few years now and this is only the second time I've had to buy this overpriced ink. On average, I print about 2,000 pages in black and white and about half of them in color. What HP doesn't tell you is that you can only adjust black ink settings in the Advanced tab, which scares a lot of people. If you don't, the printer will use the color ink to make the print job…

The black cartridge was less than full

This was the first time I've bought a replacement ink from Amazon. I usually buy them at Costco. However, for some reason I bought them online through Revain. The cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges were perfect; However, I did notice that the black wasn't completely filled in and now that I see it wearing off faster than usual I regret not having returned it to Revane for a replacement. Maybe that particular black cartridge was bad. In any case, I won't be buying them from Revain again. I'm…

Branded Ink - Value for Quality

I love the quality of the ink but as we all know branded ink is overpriced. A recent study found blood to be transfused is cheaper than printer ink! Non-genuine stamps tend not to be as good in color quality or ink quantity, which means they are replaced more often. Considering the price of printers, I seriously considered buying a new printer rather than replacing cartridges. Speaking of being literally between a rock and a hard place, that's what it's like to make an ink purchasing decision…
