Great price, great product!

So far so good. Our complete systems company wanted $500 for the same item and no extra sleeves or bulbs! (This came with 2 extras each.) Works great and you can't beat the price!

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Vertically Oriented UV Water Purifier

No installation problems. No leaks or broken parts. I read some reviews where people had leaks. Instead of teflon tape I used pipe thread sealant (see photo) for the water inlet and outlet. I've had no luck with pipe tape. I didn't use anything other than the included lamp o-rings and glass sleeve end cap.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Nothing

Compact and works!

It is compact and the inlet and outlet at the end make it easy to install. I gave 4 stars because there is no waterproof connection between the power cord and the lamp. The chance of the glass cartridge assembly breaking is reduced to zero. But a waterproof connection would reassure me. Best of all, a test for the presence of bacteria in the water was carried out five days after installation.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Long waiting time

Pretty good UV light for a good price.

I have used 5 to 7 of these in my homes. I recommend vertical (this one) over horizontal. Make sure you have about 6 inches of copper pipe at each end, then continue with the main pipe (PEX for me). I don't know why the reviewer asked me about thickness and flavor but I'm sure. I think the plumbing is simple enough. I buy this and save compared to buying a similar Masters UV light for $650 with lamps that cost 2-3 times more. Try it.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Compatible

We bought this for our country house for well water as the water was tested and contained some bacteria. We installed the device and tested our water again. The germ content was below the threshold and was found to be harmless! A few months later we lost the ballast/power supply. Panicked, without even checking the warranty, I ordered a replacement from Revain to get our system up and running asap. I then emailed HQUA support and explained our situation. They quickly explained that there was a…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Some difficulties

So far so good, but with some caveats

Well made and solid. The thread is clean, without burrs and chips. Very well packed. The instructions are mostly understandable, but there are a few grammatical and spelling mistakes. However, there are a few things to consider. 1. The device gets very hot after a few hours of inactivity - almost burning, but probably not dangerous. 2. Be very careful when connecting the PEX pipe to the device. UV destroys PEX and the light from the device is so bright it can be seen through the tube in the…

Pros
  • No secondary pollution. No chemicals are added to the water. No change in taste, smell, pH or electrical conductivity or overall water chemistry.
Cons
  • Only available in white

Excellent option for UV disinfection

I bought the HQUA-TWS-12 because of its space saving ability with input and output lines on one end of the unit. I still had to do some installation work to make sure everything fit how and where I wanted with minimal space. I didn't add sampling valves as recommended by the manufacturer because I have one right on the accumulator and there are a lot of faucets around the house anyway. I can pretty much check for bacteria in my incoming water and also in my pipes. Connecting and soldering the…

Pros
  • NEW DESIGN. Smaller size, easy to install and integrate into the piping system.
Cons
  • fades out

Repeated product failures force cancellation of credit card payment

I purchased this item in October 2019 and installed it in November as part of a complete well water filtration system. As soon as I activated the product, problems started. The ballast glowed green for a short time (ranging from several hours to a day), after which it began to emit a red audible signal. The lamp was probably defective and they will send me a replacement lamp. i did this A day later the ballast squeaked red again and the system stopped working. I then contacted the company again

Pros
  • 9000 hours UV lamp life. Effective Sterilization: Disinfects 99.99% of bacteria and viruses.
Cons
  • Without machine
